About Experience Olvera

We are Pete and Di and are the proud owners of Finca Las Vicarias. We made the move to Andalucia 6 years ago, bringing resume writing service our resume writing service two horses, Beau and Hardy and two old cats. Our original plans were to start a horse trekking centre but circumstances changed and we found ourselves searching for a new direction.

Our friend and neighbour Antonio, who has a large goat herd 4 minutes walk along our track, told us that goats were our practical option. So we went to ‘college’; that meant working day and night with Antonio learning all about goats.

I have always had horses and dogs, Pete being brought up in look at these guys Birmingham had a hamster so he found himself learning from scratch. It has been a tad more difficult as Antonio speaks broad Andaluz, But we coped and I found myself first thing in the morning checking teats, treating cuts and later on we learnt how to stitch up wounds and deliver difficult births,

Its an interesting life to say the least and our children come over to help out and also to relax. The grandchildren love the animals but mostly they love playing in the river, on our own ‘private beach’.

The finca needs a lot of work. We have no electricity only a solar panel which powers our lights and a generator for the washing machine and the television. The windows need glass but hey, when you live in such a beautiful look at these guysplace, you cope.

This has been a complete life change for both of us and we love it.
